Pros: This drive was easy to setup but needed a firmware update before it ran without issues. Since I've only had this drive a short while, I can't tell you about it's performance over time, but so far it's performing well.
Cons: So far the only disadvantage I can see to owning this drive is the short 4 foot USB cable, but that can be replaced inexpensively.
Pros: Nothing has changed in regards to the pros. This external drive is SUPERB. No issues at all have presented themselves in the two months it has been in service. I am very pleased with this drive.
Cons: None other than what I originally pointed out by on 11/7/12. Hard to find any cons, though. This drive just performs. The Paragon driver is still "wonky." I am using this drive on a USB 3.0 connection on a PC 100% of the time so I simply repartitioned and reformatted as GPT and have all 3TB available.
Summary: -Do not use this drive unless you have USB 3.0 for certain!
Pros: The 3TB hard drive comes with formatted MAC with almost a gig of stuff, these are mostly promo videos and Seagate’s Dashboard Installer Software. It says you can backup your Youtube, Flickr and Facebook. Um... these are already spread across dozens of redundant servers around the world - I don’t think you need to back them up, just use the cloud, but whatever. I can’t imagine anyone that is into photography needing to hit any of those sites to get their photos.
Cons: Two year warranty a little better than minimum (vs 1 yr), but don’t get me started on the fake hard drive shortage, the wink and the nod between this new duopoly of Seagate and WD colluding to keep prices high and warranties short. Yes Seagate, you lose TWO FULL stars minimum for taking advantage customers “just because you can” & colluding to keep prices high under the guise of “floods in thailand” (though the only one of your several worldwide factories that was in ...
