Summary: I bought this about a year ago and was disappointed with it right out of the box. The case wasn't properly aligned, so I had to use a screwdriver to maneuver the slot for the USB cord into place. I have to do this again each time I remove the USB cord from the hard drive. Otherwise, it's worked well for a year. Recently, it sometimes isn't recognized; often, my computer suggests I format it.
Summary: Keeps all my photos safe I have done a fair bit of traveling through the years and i have about 20k photos and videos stashed up in this baby it hasn't failed me so far and I dont think it will, well it cant because all my memories are in there!
Summary: Another item I have not reviewed from long time ago. This hard drive has a lot of space more than enough to carry the number of movies we use for our volunteer work. It is dependable and easy to load and carry.
Summary: Easy to use and has a lot of storage space. I used this for a back up for my dying computer, and it fit everything with lots of room to spare. I now have all our movies uploaded to it so that when we travel, I can still watch our favorite movies on our laptop. Great investment as you'd never want to lose everything on your computer.
Summary: I had 12 external drives hooked to my computer. 5 of the 12 were Seagate drives. ALL FIVE of the Seagate drives died within 18 months. And it's not an issue with the computer or what I'm doing with the drives since the other 7 drives are all still 100% functional with ZERO issues to date. It's 100% an issue with the quality of the Seagate product. NEVER AGAIN. Buy their competitor's products; they (WD drives) are worth the price.
Summary: A handy way to backup computers or archive files. Connect via the included USB cable; and use the supplied software, other software such as Clonezilla, or just treat the external drive as another drive.
