Summary: i've had this for years. and seriously, one of my most prized possessions. never had an issue or glitch (knock on wood) and it's so easy to create folders and back-up files. honestly, in case of fire, i'd grab this and bolt.
Horrible product and no customer service. Seagate, you have lost a very loyal customer

Summary: I have bought bunch of Seagate Hard drives over the years (work in IT purchasing). This is the first time that I bought a couple Seagate Expansion drives 500gb from them. The product is basically is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 RPM Desktop Harddrive that is made in a thin and flimsy plastic casing. A few months after I used it, the casing broken where the cable used to be attached. It was delicately handled as I dont abuse products.
Summary: Bought this external hard drive to record things on my tv. What I like about this hard drive is it has air flow channels underneath the unit, it allows the heat to be dispersed from the unit. The last one I bought died after about 6 months and it did not have this feature. The quality is great and I would definitely recommend this item, have had it for 15 months and it's still going strong. Thanks Seagate.
External Hard Drives Should NOT BREAK with normal use

Summary: I bought this Seagate a couple of years ago to store video and art files. It mostly sits in a drawer undisturbed, and I bring it out once or twice a year to upload/download items off of it. The (mini)USB port located in the back of the device began to malfunction, (loose connection would sometime work and sometimes not), after only a few dozen times of plugging the device in.
