Summary: Got this to be the Time Machine backup for my laptop. It draws power from the USB 2 port and is relatively quick to perform backups. All I had to do was plug it into the Mac, select it as the drive for Time Machine and, like all Macs, the computer did the rest of the heavy lifting. The price for half a terabit of memory was good. It arrived on time and in good condition.
Summary: I was a little disappointed that I was not able to use the dashboard feature on my apple computer. I bought this drive and had a choice to get it for an apple but when I installed it the dashboard feature and options were not available.
Summary: I have made it my personal mission to avoid technology that involves trying to get a device to work for hours and hours and hours while your life flies by you at the speed of light. When I cannot avoid that, I try to save you, the Amazon buyer, from time-intensive soul-sucking not-working thingamajigs. This is one of them. The Seagate Slim started off promising enough. We plugged the device into our MacBook Pro and loaded music and text files with no issues.
Summary: I love to use this when I am on the go. I put my movies and music and work files on it. I use it a lot on vacation and to store copies of documents. I like to take a lot of photos and need a place to store it. I like to have movies that the kids can wacth on the go. This holds tons of photos as well as music. I can keep up with every thing in a little device.Portable and handy.
Summary: The Seagate Slim USB Portable Hard Drive is a nice backup for your files. It's a light, very thin hard drive, and is formatted for Mac computers. While that's one of their selling points, I think the ultra portable-ness of this hard drive is actually a bigger draw. (A lot of electronics are compatible with Mac right out of the box due to the whole Mac plug-and-play thing, so I'm not sure why they felt this was such a big deal.) Nice little product, recommended.
