Summary: I own a PC repair shop, so I know what I'm doing. This drive died (no data recoverable) a few months into service and Seagate's manufacturer warranty on the unit apparently had run out THE EXACT DAY I ORDERED IT. Furthermore, Seagate now forces anyone who wants to return a Seagate product for defects to do so through whoever they bought it from, a process which doesn't work so well when you buy from a third party reseller (thanks, Amazon Marketplace!

Summary: When it works I'd give it 4 stars. The only problem is that it is kind of slow. But that is only when it works. The first drive failed in about 2 weeks. It wen completely dead. It was under warranty so it was replaced without any problem. Even though they replaced the drive they wanted to charge me for recovering any data on the drive. I found this kind of dirty. If it wasn't for their faulty product I would need the data recovery service.
Summary: I've been in networking for years, and this device showed promise but failed utterly in every way. Avoid at all costs! Not only is the installation and setup completely insane for a home version, but in order to use it properly, you have to then purchase their premium software. This device constantly stops responding and any data on it is inaccessable.
Beware: You can't have two of these on the same network!

Summary: I have had one of these for several years and would have given it a 5 star rating but when I couldn't get this new one to work, I contacted Seagate and was told "Sadly, because the drives have the same network name hard wired into the unit, it is not possible to have two Goflex Homes on the same network at the same time." While I appreciate the fine customer support, one would think better engineering would have prevent this.

Summary: This beast has been fussy the entire time I've owned it--difficult for any computer to recognize (supposedly the cable is the culprit) and it runs really hot when it is running. Now the drive is just out of warranty, and has become inaccessible--it doesn't have the click of death (yet), but no computer will recognize it. This is my second Seagate drive to do this. Of course, I have not found WD to be any more reliable.

Summary: Product is not easy to configure and stopped working after a few months. After is stopped working I had to reset and now I can't use it at all it says that I don't have the tights to save files even though I am logged in as administrator. Customer support is very basic and slow to respond even with premium membership. The upload of files takes forever wirelessly and when doing the initial back up with lots GB's, the device gets disconnected.
Summary: +Ve - setup was easy, price was ok. -ve - its slow while watching HD movies. After 2 years something failed and its not booting up. Customer service asked me to return the product. I am worried about the 3TB data in it. Its tough to identify the issues with the disc as we need separate SATA/USB cable to connect to PC (I am hoping i can do this.) Its slow with copying and reading.
DON'T BUY THIS FOR BACKUP OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM SEAGATE

Summary: I bought a brand new 3TB GOFLEX home and was pretty happy with it UNTIL - it failed six months after purchase. I have it connected to a very expensive surge protector and we had a power outage - that's all it took - nothing else electronic in my house was negatively affected. I have used it as a primary storage for my photography since there was so much space (my big mistake). Now - I can get that all that data recovered for the nice price of $499.00+.
Summary: I don't write many reviews, but this terrible waste of money has motivated me to, just so others don't have to go through the same painful experience that I have. All of the software that comes with this thing is god-awful and buggy. If you want to watch your videos on your mobile device (one of the BIGGEST SELLING POINTS of a product like this) then you're going to have to go through the Seagate app, which is a total mess and can play NONE of my videos because it...
