Summary: I rooted mine and installed openmediavault. It performs excellently for the price paid. As it included case, boot media and power in the price it was cheaper than a Raspberry Pi and it performs about 20x as well as it has good quality SATA, USB and network hardware.
Summary: This sharing device is great, now I can share my hard drive wirelessly at home with my family and share online with my friends. What I like less is that the pogoplug online website doesn't read/preview all type of files, for exemple ".mkv" extension files, but that is a minor issue.
Summary: The fact that use of this piece of NAS hardware is so tightly bound to PogoPlug, which is mickey mouse at best is a problem. I think if it was easy to just make this work as a NAS server, I'd be over the moon but it's too much of a chore to work around and get rid of the PogoPlug SW
Very good if you already have a Seagate goflex portable drive

Summary: Go for it if you already have a GoFlex portable drive. Supports Streaming of media onto UPnP/DLNA compatable devices. Can map it as a network drive on Windows and Android Phones. Dont like the fact that i need to connect to pogoplug via internet to manage the device [Connect,Disconnect].
Summary: Well packaged, well built product, connects very easily into existing home network. Pogo Software is as good as any other although you do have to pay a yearly subscription for increased functionality. Nothing for free these days!
