Excellent speed and design, A+++

Carbonlord, Amazon
14 April 2011
  • Summary: Purchased because a friend recommended it and he was right. Excellent speed with firwire and not bad with usb. Beautiful design, but the case was not finished properly and the glue from the leather was hard to take off.

Works like a charm (after initial install headaches)

Laurent "grinmister", Amazon
2 November 2010
  • Summary: The FreeAgent Go is a reasonably priced, extremely light, attractive portable hard drive that works a advertised - once you figure out how to install it on Windows 7 that is. It took me several tires. My goal was to give my dad a birthday present of family pictures he could view on his Mac.

Must be good

oceankitty, Amazon
29 October 2010
  • Summary: I am NOT that tech savvy, so I'm going to rate this portable external memory hard drive according to my brother-in-law, who suggested I buy it. He swears by this Seagate brand, so he loaded my hardrive into this portable unit for me, and had NO problems.

Backup feature I need is not functional

Jack Riddell, Amazon
15 October 2010
  • Summary: The Seagate came pre-formatted with three partitions and had some proprietary backup software on the disk. I already use a backup software called "Bounceback Pro" that is capable of creating a mirror of my entire hard drive, including the zero track.

Nice Drive, but Slow...

Paul D. Marsh, Amazon
19 August 2010
  • Summary: I purchased this drive at Best Buy to replace a failed 250 GB Verbatim portable hard drive I was using for backups for my MacBook Air. Once I got it home, I immediately erased and reformatted it for my Mac (it came Fat32 formatted for Windows).

Case and Go Dock come with Item

Jennifer Chien, Amazon
9 July 2010
  • Summary: Although not in the product description, a simple slipcase and a Go Dock already come with this hard drive. I bought the two items suggested as additional purchases, but am returning them. Unless you need another portable dock or a nicer, full coverage case, you don't need to buy these items.

Keeping Safe

W. F. Hoover, Amazon
3 July 2010
  • Summary: Great External Drive. I use it to keep a copy of my entire laptop drive. I download the whole thing once a week so, if I burn up my laptop drive I wind up losing very little.

Had to Reformat but Now Seems OK

Ibuystuff, Amazon
6 June 2010
  • Summary: The first backup was automatic and everything seemed OK, but then the problems began. Suddenly this 500 GB storage device was all filled up, even though my Macbook Pro computer was brand new, and I had only done one backup.

Awesome, but overheats...

Maciej Zenczykowski "MaZe", Amazon
30 March 2010
  • Summary: This is a very, very fast, very professional looking drive. It has all the right connectivity options and connectors included right in the box. However, it is not capable of keeping itself within normal operating temperatures in a normal air conditioned office environment.
