The product didn't work

Summary: i really liked the the features of the product, unfortunately when it arrived it was compatible with my computers (both windows and mac). They couldn't detect the drive hence couldn't use it to its full potential. Had to return the product .
Summary: I owned one of these for a couple years and it worked as expected. Then one day it started beeping and it died. I still have external drives for years ago that are still working. This product should have lasted longer.
Summary: Disassembled the shell to access the drive to test it. Yep, it suffered from the "click of death". Opening the case probably voided the 5 year warranty on the product, but how else does one access the drive to test it in another machine, just to be sure it's the drive and not the enclosure?
Pros: Very small size. Very quiet.
Cons: Died within a year of purchase. Lost all of the data while attached to a laptop while attempting to recover this backup data. Unfortunately this drive was the backup of a system that had crashed previously. So there was no way to recover anything. Infamous Seagate "click of death" issue. What is ...
Summary: Im very dissapointed with seagate. The hard drive works for a couple of months before you realize your data is corrupt. This unit has a really big bug in the firmaware, maybe in the hard disk itself inside the slim enclosure.
Summary: Sorry Seagate, Are you going through a T@Y@TA phase? VERY DISAPPOINTED, but I'll keep it. At this point I loose all the way around in returns.
Pros: It is a seagate product. Slim, nice look with a heavy base docking station that keeps it in place on desk. Duel USB for separate power and data. GREAT PRICE. 500GB
Cons: How did they get 400MB/s. I transferred my documents from my old XP PC to a new build with Win 7 pro. I was lucky to see 29MB/s the whole time. Very disappointed. This must be why Seagate does not publish transfer rates for this on the web site. I always relied on Seagate, even put 4 in the new P...
Summary: I would send these back to Seagate, but it just isn't worth the hassle. I'm not confident that a replacement drive will work any better since I have 2 of these that give me the same errors.
Pros: The backup software is decent.
Cons: I am usually a fan of Seagate drives, but I have 2 of these and they both work for a while, and then give me bad sector errors. I am surprised that I got 2 drives with errors. I reformat them and then they will work for a while.
Summary: WOW...JUST WOW! I purchased this drive after reading all of the reviews and was confident that I was buying the best USB portable HD for the money. This drive was intended to back up my desktop PC data for a clean install of Windows 7.
Summary: I really wanted to like this drive but out of frustration, decided to destroy it. I've owned this hard drive for several months and this has been one of the worst Hard Drives I've ever owned, aside from a very cheap drive I once bought.
Summary: I was willing to pay the premium price tag on this drive because I thought that it would bring reliability. After 3 months, the drive conked out. None of the recovery tools on the market (including Seagate's) allowed me to recover my files.
