I love this drive.

  • Summary: I have two of these drives and with this new addition, I now have three HD's and I plan on buying another one in about 6 months. They just work. They are truly plug and play on my iMac desktop. Thank you seagate for making a HD that runs at 7200rpm's.

  • Summary: Works well as advertised out of box. No problems so far after about a year, but I only use it as a backup for piles of movies and not as a regular drive to keep plugged in all the time.

quick and easy--thumbz up

artomatic, Amazon
1 August 2010
  • Summary: Simple plug and play setup, fast and quiet. I transferred 40 gigs of info from my old drive in probably twenty minutes with the Seagate plugged into the Firewire port and the old drive in USB. The manual is breathtaking in its brevity, so you have to search the Seagate site for more info. Only a couple of caveats. I bought this drive because I was having mounting/unmounting problems with my old external drive.

not the most reliable

agypsy, Amazon
13 May 2010
  • Summary: i had this drive for about a year when one day it wouldn't power up. so it thought, d*mn, another failed drive. but i've had other drives fail on me by ezquest and lacie. i tried replugging it about 10 times thinking (or praying) it would start up but to no avail. i had it plugged in with through the firewire port and my friend mentioned that i should try to plug it in with the mini USB so it doesn't require as much power and...presto it started up!
