Very disappointed in drive

Summary: Drive is one year old and is no longer recognized by any Mac computer. I used it to hold the iPhoto library which is now lost. Very disappointed in drive. Will never buy another drive from this maker!
Summary: It's fine when it works. I've been using this for about a year now. Most of the time it mounts on my mac with no problem. But don't you ever touch it because it's extremely sensitive. If I so much as breath on it the wrong way, it disconnects from my mac.
Easy to set up, worked well for 2 years and 8 months But Failed

Summary: ordered in October of 2012 and put into service shortly thereafter to serve as a backup drive for a network device. The drive worked well during that time and was easy to set up. However the the drive failed in May of 2015, just 2 years and 8 months later. Recovery attempts have not succeeded.
Summary: I was using this device. I had just uploaded months worth of photos. The device froze and now the data is not accessible (I did not drop it or abuse it in anyway, it just froze up as I tried to disconnect it from my computer). I called Seagate.
Summary: I purchased this external hard drive about 10 months ago as a back up for my computer, as well as to store larger files (didn't want to fill up the desktop's hard drive). Just 10 months in, and the hard drive has died a miserable, self induced death.
Summary: After just a few, this drive croaked. It is still under warranty, the return policy demands that I return it in the original packaging. Who keeps that? Now I have to figure out what I am going to do about packaging. And they don't pay return postage for a useless drive. Very low-class.
Seagate intentionally preventing customers from making an informed purchase decision

Summary: I have no idea what the drive is in this. This fundamental bit of information is missing from all of the documentation that I could find online about it, even Seagate's tech spec pdf on their site. Absolutely unacceptable.
