Too early to tell, but...

Summary: I've owned this for about a month, so my opinion may vary as durability may change this review. When it comes to hard drives, durability and performance are everything. As performance goes, the USB 2.0 interface is fast enough, but an ESATA option would be better. The dial on the front seems only to adjust the brightness of the disk activity light. Is that really useful or important?
Reviews of 2 TB Story Station, not 1 or 1.5 TB, wanted

Summary: None, not one, of the reviews that show on the page for the Samsung Story Satation 2 TB [Amazon's mispelling of 'Station,' not mine] are for the Story Station 2 TB external HDD as I type. All are for other sized HDD offering in this Samsung line. Maybe some things that apply to the 1 or 1.5 TB versions likewise apply to the 2 TB model, but I (and many other people) do not make expensive purchasing decisions based on possibly faulty assumptions.
Summary: Paid 64.20 and got the tax back just 2 month ago so why has it nearly doubled in price. I have several of these hard drives. Good Points, 1. Cheap ... when I bought it anyway. 2. Reliable and robust - been dropped a few times. 3. Quality look and feel. 4. Quiet operation. 5. Convenient size. Bad Points, 1. Anoying LED that lights up the entire room if backing data up over night - even on minimum light setting. 2. A bit slow. 3. Not stackable.
Summary: This product looks good and sounds good, ie no sound. However there were problems. I tried to transfer 280Gb of music over from another drive and it kept stopping at about 90Gb. The computer did not then recognize the drive. This happened three times which as you can imagine was very time consuming ,,,for nothing !
Summary: Since I've installed this drive (No problems there - straight in) it seems my PC has slowed down exponentially. I can't say for certain that this drive is to blame without some in depth investigation but it is suspicious that it started at the same time as installation. Other than that it does what it's supposed to do - eventually.
Summary: It's not a lot of money for a great deal of storage - however it does shut down frequently (restored by removing and reinserting the USB lead). If you use if for music (as I do), it means redirecting iTunes from the C drive to the Samsung - a bit of a pain. Other than that, it's been problem free so far.
Major glitch frequently spoils an otherwise great product

Summary: I purchased 3 of these units in fairly quick succession to back up my burgeoning library of data. On the whole they have served me well however i am now forced to return one to amazon due to a commonly occurring glitch which i have seen mentioned in numerous reviews on the net but which is not always articlulated well. The energy saving feature of this device means that it automatically turns itself off following a period of inactivity.
Summary: This was my first purchase of extra storage capacity. My old laptop is now full to the brim with tunes and photos. Whilst the Story Station sync'ed perfectly to create a full copy of the files on my hard drive, it got a little confused when I then removed some photos from it's memory (which were still on my hard drive). I now get a message saying that there is an anomoly in the back up content.
