Summary: I bought this in July 2012 but used it only intermittently. Started to use it recently and transferred photos, video, large documents to it because of its capacity. Two laptops and one desktop now cannot "see it". I have no way of recovering the data stored on it.
Summary: Light, durable (mine has suffered a few knocks already and survives to tell the tale, thanks to the provided leather-look jacket) and big on storage. Slips neatly into a small bag or jacket pocket. Couldn't really ask for more, very happy.
Summary: I bought this item 1 year ago, suddenly stoped working without reason. Contact 3 different telephone numbers until I reach samsung support on 0080047324283 option 4 data recovery and they have quote me between 500-1300 GBP to get back the information.
Summary: Be very cautious when buying this. In fact, be on the safe side and stay away from it all together. PROBLEM: Within the first few weeks - after I had transferred 400+ GB worth of data onto it - it stopped working.
Summary: Had this for about 2 months now. No problems - works as expected. Ready formatted in NTFS. Some S/W already on the drive, but I've not used that. Have transferred all my digital video recordings to it, and am using it as a backup for all my other things (such as photos).
Summary: This is an excellent piece of equipment...just take it out of the box and plug it in and away you go (I run Win 7). It's a very stylish and compact design so it fits in the laptop bag easily enough. I bought it to store my videos on, and it's 1TB size makes it perfect..
Summary: After having yet another time capsule die on me without warning, I decided to get one of these for my Time Machine backups instead. It's USB-powered so does not hog another power socket and require all that extra cabling.
