Summary: I own about 5 lacie hard drives now, with a span of several years from first to last one. I like them and they have been reliable. This last one is very solidly built and looks goods. The way that I used them is for backup. So what i do is turn it on backup what needs backing up and turn it off.
Summary: Excellent drive. Very good value for this size and quality. Not really appreciating the Phillipe Stark design - it is very utilitarian, but this is no problem. My only issue is the short USB cord that cannot be replaced because it has a unique connector to the drive.
Summary: When I plugged in LaCie Starck 301889KUA on my home pc which runs on Windows 7 it recognized the device almost immediately. I just had to run it on my computer, agree to the terms and conditions that these devices usually come with and the drive began to format.
Summary: When I first set it up and began using this hard drive, I was a little concerned. The setup was a bit complicated and somewhat confusing. Once I got beyond that, however, I was blown away by the excellent construction and superior quality of the Lacie Starck.
Good for techies working across multiple platforms.

Summary: What makes this drive different from all other drives? Two things. First is the rather useless ability to control it with a touch. You can set two functions, one if you touch the panel and one if you keep your finger on the panel until the program you've selected pops up.
Summary: I've got a macbook running OSX 10.6 and with Windows XP on a boot camp partition, so I was able to test the drive's software under both mac and Windows. Physically this is a nice drive. The casing is solid metal and the drive is pretty heavy.
Summary: So far I like this product, except for one minor complaint, which I'll get to in a bit. I like how the on light is a little glowing X projected right in front of the drive. I like the silver front. I like that this is sturdy. I copied a 19.3 gb file from my laptop, and it took 16 minutes.
Summary: Lovely quality and looks, works fine, but heavy so don't think this is a mobile unit. Shame that the USB cable (Mini male to standard male) is too short - you'll probably need to buy a longer one at the same time as buying this. The inbuilt 'Desktop manager' is next to pointless.
