Anytime my computer crashed and the hard drive had to be deleted was not an issue because when I tapped into the Time Machine an

Summary: So I have had this for exactly 28 months running it on my iMac 24/7 to update a few times a day via Time Machine. Over the course of using it there were periods of time were the iMac couldn't mount it to the computer. No big deal...
Summary: Easy to use. Small, fast and easy to store. One complaint is that PC and Mac users seems to end up seeing different folders. We had several incidents where our photographer (on a Mac) placed files in a folder that PC users was unable to see. It didn't seem to be a problem the other way around.
Excerpt: The speed is amazing! Lightening quick! I'm just using the LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt External Hard Drive for extra storage and am not using for automated backups right now. I have had it self-eject twice and that was the first time I used it.

Summary: I'd used a bunch of LaCie drives years ago as a corporate Mac admin and experienced high failure rates and awful customer service. I began building my own portable Firewire and USB drives using Hitachi Travelstar and Seagate Momentus raw drives and Wiebetech and NexStar enclosures.
Excerpt: Overall I like this sturdy external drive with its neat orange design and the Thunderbolt cable can be tucked in. My only complaint is that the Thunderbolt cable can be accidentally pulled out of my Thunderbolt port in my Macbook when I move my Macbook a little.
Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use, High Capacity, Portable, Quiet
Summary: I gave this drive three eggs because it failed after less than 100 hours of actual usage. The actual age of the drive is three years but it has been handled with care and never subject to any condition that could be remotely considered rugged.
Pros: Bright orange rubber guard makes it easy to find. Small and easy to use.
Cons: USB cable is not up to par for a rugged device. Reliability is no better than most other drives that I have used. Drive failed when I needed it most causing lost productivity.
Summary: I purchased this drive specifically to run virtual OS's from. Having a Thunderbolt connection is exactly what I wished for the USB 3 is a bonus. I noticed however that performance was lacking and not as I expected.
