Pros: It has a pretty orange "make it look rugged" sleeve.
Cons: This thing is a POS. The USB port internally cracked. Port comes off the board by a good half inch, and has nothing holding it into place. it just is accessible from the case, but not actually attached to the case port hole.
Summary: This is a nice, fast, compact unit with no separate power supply that's got enough capacity to store plenty of data, and the fact that it's rugged gives me the confidence to know that I don't have to handle it like a fragile piece of glassware. I use this drive everywhere all the time, with no worries!
Summary: High speed, compact size, light weight, rugged design - this is one indispensable piece of equipment in my 'road warrior' toolkit. And the encryption software that comes already loaded on the drive makes using it a better experience. All in all, I'm really satisfied with this product and have even recommended this hardware to my friends.
Summary: The first thing that struck my eye about this drive was its MIL spec compliance. Between that, the encryption software that comes with the unit, and the high-visibility orange rubber "bumper", I feel confident that the risk to my data due to either accident or malevolent intent is low. That said, the high-speed USB 3.0 transfer rate is icing on the cake.
Summary: Buying the Thunderbolt cable was expensive, and a lot of hard drives don't offer a Thunderbolt cable. But after seeing LaCie hard drive that comes with a Thunderbolt port, I was eager to buy this product. After I used it to connect on my new iMac 2013, I was surprised by the time it took to transfer a 10Gb file I wanted to backup onto my hard drive. It took less than 1 minutes.
Summary: This drive works great, and does what it's supposed to do. Setting it up was easy. Thunderbolt connection works well. The drive itself is very solid, and runs very quietly. I keep my entire work archive on it. Good value.
