Summary: the service people at lacie are nice, but that's about all the good i can say about this product. please DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!!
Pros: none. not a one.
Cons: hardware from usb device breaks very easily, then you have to send the device into lacie, and in my case get a refurbished model of the same type, and then have that model break too. , honesty, the usb 3.0 connection is extremely fragile.
Pros: Worked for a year although I used it extremely rarely (maybe once a month, if that).
Cons: Well it's been a year, and like the other reviewer, the USB cable no longer seems to fit correctly into the drive - so it gets power but can't be recognized by a computer, therefore data can't be accessed. And the cable they use has a very specific design so you can't just use another USB cable to take care of the problem. This drive is a useless piece of junk - barely used and already broken because of terrible design. Definitely don't recommend. My much older "Passp...
Summary: despite being fast the lacie rikkie sill has your standard usb 2 hard drive inside so internally is no faster than a usb2 hard drive then their is the usb connection which is incredibly flimsy over time with normal use the component in both of the 2 lacie rickkie's that i have bought has broken requiring me to visit maplin within a few weeks to buy a new casing which is more durable. in conclusion you will just be disappointed lacie should just admit they failed.
Summary: My laCie Rikiki 1TB USB 3.0 failed to light up so I thought yeah okay, its still covered by its 2 year warranty, no problem for the data recovery innit? Well, it isn't like that. Let me just walk you through this, it is quite amusing: laCie refers you to their French sister company D2 data recovery to get your stuff back and here is what their technical support team quotes: Thanks to contact us for your data recovery.
Summary: Stopped working after six months losing me all of my data. I contacted Lacie and they attempted to extort £400 out of me. I strongly believe that companies who undertake shady practices like what Lacie have done to me, should be investigated. Please stay away from this drive.
Worst product ever bought..and one of the priciest too...

Summary: DO NOT BUY...RIDICULOUSLY CHEAPLY MADE..LOOKS GOOD BUT STOP WORKING AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE.SO PISSED OFF AND DISAPPOINTED AS I THOUGHT LACIE WAS A QUALITY BRAND...I WAS WRONG. BUY WESTERN DIGITAL OR ANY CHEAP ONE FROM CHINA IT WILL LAST MUCH LONGER.i HAVE GOT LOADS OF DATA THAT I CAN'T RECOVERED AND EVERYTIME I PLUG IT IN, IT ASKS ME TO FORMAT IN ORDER TO WORK.RUBBISH/RIP OFF CALL IT LIKE YOU WANT BUT PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LACIE PRODUCTS ,THEY ONLY LOOK...
Summary: This drive failed on me within 2 weeks of buying it. I lost a ton of expensive studio work from the previous few days that I was literally about to back up ( you do not expect a drive to fail as quickly as that. ) FTR it was the actual drive that failed, not the caddy. The tech guy I got to look at it said that the Samsung drive it contained was cheap, prone to faults and unrecoverable without some expensive white room diagnostics.
Summary: I bought this drive in March and it broke in October (7 months), the drive would no longer power up. I contacted LaCie support who told me I could send the drive away to get it repaired but they would format it in the repair process. I needed the data on the drive so I removed the hard disk from the caddy and put it into another caddy to retrieve my data. LaCie have now told me this invalidated my warranty and will no longer repair it.
