Summary: I bought this for use with WII it works perfect. It's nice and small, I like the way the cable is attached so no need to carry a cable around. The one small problem I had was when you plug into a PC you have to use a program included to format as it's not pre-formatted (although you can format manually), the program is good though as you can pick FAT32 or NTSC or BOTH as it will allow you to pick the size of the partition if you require one.
Summary: I have been using this drive for almost 2 years. I'm constantly reading, writing, deleting files, never done a format and still it works like charm. Just once I heard a strange metal clicking sound, I contacted LaCie, they told me to change the usb cable or the usb port and that was it! No problem whatsoever. But the best is its looks! Once you see it you'll love it!
Summary: Very good portable hard disk, one of the smallest that can be found as far as I know. I've had two (because the first one got stolen) and they both worked as expected. Very nice styling, nice aluminium, that doesn't get too hot, even with heavy use. Best hard disk I've ever had!
Summary: This is a truly pocketable hard drive with a capacity that belies its size. It seems very well engineered in a strong metal case with an attractive finish and the obligatory LED to indicate disc activity. I've installed it on a number of netbooks, laptops and desktops - it installs flawlessly in Windows XP, Vista and 7. Although I have not taken technical measurements of the read and write speed, it seems fast and certainly adequate for my needs.
Summary: Bought as a cheap solution to use with my iMac for time machine backups as I could not justify the £250-£350 or so for the Apple recommended time capsule. Plugged it in and reformatted to MAC OSX and setup time machine up in a few minutes. It took about 3 hours to do first backup (151Gb) but now happily backing up changes every hour with no problems. As mentioned previously by others the cable is a little short if you are not using this with a laptop.
