Summary: I bought this item as it had decent reviews. When I tried to install this on my laptop with OS Windows 7 I followed the installation instructions which are brief, the drive failed to install. Could just have been a dud but found it frustrating that there was no trouble shooting information and all I had to look at was "error message.
Summary: I have been buying LaCie 2.5" disks for 3 years now, and have never had any problems with them. I even bought a 500GB Rikiki last October and use it everyday, mainly for watching videos on my Xbox 360. However, in the last week I have had to return a bad drive that died after 4 days, and the replacement for that very drive, which died after only 30 minutes! I haven't used them any differently than all my previous drives, so simply chalk it up to being a bad batch.
Summary: I've had this drive since early December and had bought it to watch video via a TV. Anyway, it was working like a dream until a couple of days ago, when, having reconnected it following one data transfer session, my PC read it as corrupted. The reader for the TV was finding all the files OK, except for those from the previous transfer. Consulted a website that suggested rebooting the PC with the drive connected, which I did.
