Summary: Loud beyond comprehension. For some unexplained reason, many manufacturers pay seemingly no attention to how noisy their devices are. I really wanted to like this drive. It just leads me to believe that they don't actually use or really test their own devices in real world situations. For a hard drive that's meant to sit on your desk, this thing is ridiculous.
Summary: Don't be fooled by the product image and think the drive is covered in brush aluminum. The entire case is made out of plastic. There are great reviews and praises on how reliable the drive is, but based it's design it does not seem to be able to dissipate heat very well. The drive actually heats up hotter and faster than my other ext & int hd.
Summary: For the price this drive is a great deal, storage wise. It looks nice next to my aluminum iMac. However, the noise it makes might drive you crazy. If you have a loud computer that already makes a racket then you won't notice a thing. My iMac is almost silent. When in use this external drive clicks away as it seeks. The fan noise isn't a big deal in fact the fan is unnoticeable compared to the noise that the drive makes.
Neat looking device, but one hard disk failure (with data loss) so far doesn't bode well

Summary: This drive is well made. It looks great, although to the touch, it's a little disappointing/plasticky with sharp edges. Nevertheless does have a little pouch that you can keep it in; if that floats your boat. People have mentioned on here about "fingerprints", but in all honesty I couldn't care less about marks. What I do care about, though, isn't cosmetics, it's more the security of my data.
