Summary: While this drive has not left my desk in the 2 years it's been in service, it has failed. No bumps, drops, or shaking - just gave up. I know they're going to die eventually, but 2 years seems too short.
The LEVEL of customer service is ZERO... I HATE THIS

Summary: Do not waste your time. Seriously. I purchased this unit for a PC, and a d2 Quadra at the same time for a MacBook Pro. The LaCie Hard Disk plugged in nicely, then downloaded older software from the disk. When prompted to download an upgrade, I was hit with repeated error boxes.
Summary: The size of the disk itself is pretty discrete for what it is, don't be fooled into thinking you're going to be carrying this thing around while you travel, it can be placed easily on your work area and it won't be a bulk to handle at all.
Summary: The reason I bought this hard drive is because I wanted an external drive that could do both USB and eSATA. eSATA drives are few and far between, it seems. I would have preferred a more portable external drive, but didn't find anything else available, and this one really meets my needs.
Summary: I've used my LaCie hard disk for 2 years (+3 weeks) now. All was fine and dandy until just a few days ago when it went out in a puff of smoke (figurative, not literal). When I went to check my warranty I found that it is only covered for up to 2 years. Not cool.
Summary: I've been please with the performance of the hard drive and it's ease of use after i got it running. It wasn't exactly plug and play with my mac, for some reason it would not let me format it the way i wanted it at first. I tried my pc, and then finally my friends mac worked after awhile.
Summary: People constantly marvel at how a memory machine with so much space could take up so little space on the desk, and still look great. The design of the hard drive is very elegant and minimalistic. It takes up about as much space as a medium sized novel.
Summary: I needed a bootable external drive because the internal drive on my Imac is failing. This drive was easy to set up and is working fine. The firewire 800 connection is fast enough to use it as a startup drive. It also has FW400 and USB connections, which can be handy.
