Larry D. Wynns, Amazon

  • Summary: The first one I bought in 2008 with 500gb is still working but then I purchased this 1 TB drive about 2-2.5 years ago and it was never the same. Not only it's always been VERY slow but now one folder has disappeared and asking if I want to "format" the disk.

Died after 2 years.

Host, Amazon
8 April 2013
  • Summary: This drive just died on me this morning. It was making a loud whirring noise I noticed after waking up, as if it was running at full speed. So I powered it off and back on, and then just heard some clicking noises as it spun up, and then would stop, and a few minutes later try again, and fail.

Malfunctioning after a year of use.

Il Gyu Cho, Amazon
22 January 2013
  • Summary: I am an amateur photographer who needed a big hard drive to back up all my photos as my computer harddrive was filling quickly. I bought this 2tb harddrive thinking that it was a good deal with reasonable pricing. However, after about a year of use (or less), the harddrive is malfunctioning.

Shoddy products, they die like flies

Julian Vargas, Amazon
13 December 2012
  • Summary: Never buy an Iomega product in your life. There are good brands with quality products out there and Iomega doesn't even come close to them. I wasted money in external storage units from Iomega three times and all three times they died after a few months or a year or two no matter how much care I had...

Completely incompatible

Amazon
26 October 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this Ext.H.D. three days ago to add to an older Iomega 1Tb drive that I've been using for about five years. That worked satifactorily. However, I ran out of storage space so purchased the Prestige 3 Tb to continue backups that ran with Retrospect program.
