Ours Died

Paul S. Hudnut "fcphun", Amazon
6 October 2012
  • Summary: Worked for a while, then died. Will never buy iomega again. And please, everyone, back up to a cloud service too. It will save you a lot of money over data recovery from a failed disk.

Less than expected

Gomer, Amazon
8 June 2011
  • Summary: Product worked well for 2 months, then suddenly stopped working. Contacted customer support, who were very helpful, and was told it could possibly be the power source. Fair enough... Got the new power source after 2 days, suprisingly, but that wasn't the problem. Contacted customer support again, and come to find not only do the not offer data back up, but they want me to pay 25 dollars to exhange it, and they are going to send me a "reconditioned" model which is held up...

"Horrible replacement policy when drive FELL APART!!!"

Soliloquy59, CNET
24 May 2011
  • Pros: Enjoyed using it while it was in one piece.
  • Cons: Obviously the screws used to hold it together are not sufficient, but the company's response to my concern is even worse!

JUNK!

Old Corps, Amazon
18 April 2011
  • Summary: Died after minimal usage. Didn't even have it for 2 months and only used it to download movies from my DVR. Warranty support is a joke. They'll talk to you on the phone for $25...........???? My son's died in a very short time as well. STAY AWAY!

Don't use this drive for valuble information

R. H. Stein, Amazon
15 February 2011
  • Summary: I bought this drive to back up and store photos, etc. After 6 months the drive stopped working and I called their support line. Although the drive is warrantied, they do nothing to repair your drive, rather you have to send yours back and then they will send a new one. All your data is lost unless you hire Iomega or an independent service to ATTEMPT to retrieve your data. If you want to get a replacement drive before they receive yours, you pay.

Iomega is an awful company

rodneydanger, Amazon
12 January 2011
  • Summary: My drive died after 6 months. (It just won't power on). So I go to the Iomega website thinking I can get a replacement since I'm within warranty. WRONG Iomega charges $25 to even talk to them, unbelievable! The worst support imaginable. How can you charge $25 for a phone call when the product is suppose to be within warranty. NEVER BUYING IOMEGA AGAIN. EVER. Spend your money elsewhere.
