Horrible product, not only is it overpriced

Victor, Amazon
26 December 2014
  • Summary: Horrible product, not only is it overpriced, but it also failed to format and eventually broke. I can no longer paste files into the device, don't waste your time here folks. Just get a seagate 2TB, it has more storage space for around the same amount of money as iomega prestige 1TB.

Disappointed

Larry D. Wynns, Amazon
27 December 2013
  • Summary: It did not copy all the files for my backup. It would not let me delete the few files that it did copy and when I tried to reformat it to get rid of the files it would not format.

shame on Iomega engeneers

Amazon Customer, Amazon
13 September 2013
  • Summary: The first one I bought in 2008 with 500gb is still working but then I purchased this 1 TB drive about 2-2.5 years ago and it was never the same. Not only it's always been VERY slow but now one folder has disappeared and asking if I want to "format" the disk. We all know that's the end of this thing... It asks me to format it when I switch computers, too. So I can't rely on it anymore. For the $200 paid I would imagine it lasted at least the same as my previous disk.

Worst warranty service

skycombinator, Amazon
19 January 2013
  • Summary: The drive worked fine for a year. Then the connector soldering came loose and after working intermittently for a week, the connector snapped off. When talking to Iomega they refused to honor their 3 year warranty indicating that I hadnt registered my drive. They had not indicated on the box or the packaging what the unregistered warranty was and within what time the registration had to be done. Moreover the box didnt come with any instructions for registering.

Ours Died

Paul S. Hudnut "fcphun", Amazon
6 October 2012
  • Summary: Worked for a while, then died. Will never buy iomega again. And please, everyone, back up to a cloud service too. It will save you a lot of money over data recovery from a failed disk.
