near perfect product

jacques, Amazon
11 April 2014
  • Summary: Works flawlessly, is quickly recognized by any PC, but is somehow a little fragile for something that is lugged around avery party you attrend!! I lost one end cap and I need duct tape to prevent the HD to slide around the case. But then most of what I own has at least 2 inches of duct tape around it. Maybe it is just me!

  • Summary: Great External HD when I bought it long time ago it was a good catch and today it still is a catch, I took away the HDD from the case and used it as additional HDD for my computer as I bought a slim 1TB hd this year.

Disappointed

Larry D. Wynns, Amazon

  • Summary: It did not copy all the files for my backup. It would not let me delete the few files that it did copy and when I tried to reformat it to get rid of the files it would not format.

Iomega Prestige 1 TB USB 3.0/USB 2.0 Desktop Hard Drive

Vibert, Amazon

  • Summary: item arrived timely, securely packaged. Unit worked right out of the box. I use in conjunction with Norton 360 to backup my system. Response is fast. Reliable. I turn off when not in use and, as an extra precaution, turn off internet during backup.

shame on Iomega engeneers

D. Konrad, Amazon
13 September 2013
  • Summary: The first one I bought in 2008 with 500gb is still working but then I purchased this 1 TB drive about 2-2.5 years ago and it was never the same. Not only it's always been VERY slow but now one folder has disappeared and asking if I want to "format" the disk. We all know that's the end of this thing... It asks me to format it when I switch computers, too. So I can't rely on it anymore. For the $200 paid I would imagine it lasted at least the same as my previous disk.

Still up after 3 years!

jj, Amazon
2 September 2013
  • Summary: This has proven more durable (and a little slower) than my 1TB Seagate FreeAgent drive which crashed after a year and fatally crashed a few months after. Read click-of-death. Don't expect permenent storage from anything other than the cloud (can be expensive) or, possibly, NDisc blue-ray storage.
