Summary: This external drive worked fine for exactly two years....then gave up the ghost. Even though the light was lit, files could not be added or retrieved, and the content could not be accessed. To destroy the data, I pounded it repeatedly with a hammer. But it is indestructible.
Summary: It worked well for three days. The drive was recognized and formatted by the cable box DVR. After three days I could not access anything recorded. I could not reset the cable box with the external drive attached. I had to return the unit.

Summary: I purchased this ExHD (1TB) soley for the use of the eSATA connection to my computer. I have a factory installed eSATA port on my computer and this HD is not recognized. I tried everything the troubleshooting offered in forwards and in reverse... nothing worked.
Summary: When you attach this drive to a computer it automatically loads a virtual CD titled Iomega. On that CD is an old version of the Iomega Encryption Utility. This virtual CD is as much a benefit to this hard drive as a nail is to a car tire.
