Summary: Iomega has always been a good product to my knowledge. The look of it was great, it was a cool looking addition to a mac mini. Unfortunately, mine didn't work. Thankfully, the return process with Amazon was painless. I'm glad other people didn't have the same experience as me but, I went with an external enclosure utilizing an extra hard drive.
Summary: I have had this hard drive for over two years now and it hasn't failed me once. I've traveled with it, banged it up a bit, and it's still running. About to run out of space, but definitely a keeper. Love this hard drive.
Summary: This is a step up from the previous generation of Iomega Minimax's. It comes bundled wih a bunch of cords - FW800 to FW400, FW400 to FW400, and USB. The FW800 to FW400 cable, by the way, is probably long enough for the newer Mac Mini's -- meaning that, if I recall correctly, some of these other mini-form-factor drives used to have a problem with the cable not being long enough to reach. If you understood that, by the way, then you should get this drive.
Summary: I bought two of these to use as a media center with my Mac Mini. I plugged them in and they work great. I was happy to see that it included a USB cable, a standard Firewire cable, and a really short Firewire cable used when stacking this drive under a Mac Mini. That short cable is a nice addition and keeps clutter to a minimum. The packaging was very good. The finish is nearly identical to the Mac Mini.
Summary: It was extremely easy to setup the drive. Just plugged it in and it was Mac formated and found by the OS. It has been running 24/7 since I purchased (only a few weeks now), but is quiet, not terribly hot, and functioning as intended.
Summary: Bought this hard drive about a month ago to compliment my mac mini. Looks awesome!! It also works great with either the firewire or the usb, but the ONLY complaint I have is that you can only use it as a hub for whichever connection you are using. This was nothing in the description pointing out this one small drawback. I would still highly recommend this drive to anyone interested.
