Didn't work for me???

Ron Law, Amazon
1 June 2013
  • Summary: Iomega has always been a good product to my knowledge. The look of it was great, it was a cool looking addition to a mac mini. Unfortunately, mine didn't work. Thankfully, the return process with Amazon was painless. I'm glad other people didn't have the same experience as me but, I went with an external enclosure utilizing an extra hard drive.

Great hard drive

Katie Allred "Katie Allred", Amazon
3 January 2013
  • Summary: I have had this hard drive for over two years now and it hasn't failed me once. I've traveled with it, banged it up a bit, and it's still running. About to run out of space, but definitely a keeper. Love this hard drive.

Died after two years

Derrill Dabkoski, Amazon
20 April 2012
  • Summary: The hard drive crashed after only 2 years of continuous use. That's pretty lousy even for an external drive. Other than that it worked fine though.

Failed after 1 year!

BradPepe, Amazon
18 April 2011
  • Summary: Just as others stated here, I had the drive connected to my iMac and was very happy with it. Then just at the 1 year mark, it started to fail. I was able to reformat it and had it work for about 1 week. Piece of junk! The 1 year warranty was up right when it failed too. IF you decide to buy this, then be sure to register it right away so you can get the 3 year warranty.... you are going to need it!

DO NOT BUY

Dave, Amazon
24 March 2011
  • Summary: I would not recomend this brand of drive. It worked fine for about 10 months, then began having problems being mounted. It started making chattering sounds and a little after a year, it failed completly. I thought the warrenttee was for 3 years, as stated on the box, but the gotcha is, that you had to have registered it within a certain period after the purchase. DO NOT BUY.

So far so good

John Uhl, Amazon
16 February 2011
  • Summary: I am using OS X and in the time since i purchased this drive I have had zero issues (purchased March of 2010). I used it for automatic backups, which OS X handles automatically through Time Machine. It is very handy to have both Firewire and USB ports int he back of the machine. this has allowed me to daisy chain older harddrives which I have gathered in the past few years with ease. I only wish I had ordered two.

Iomega TerraByte Drive

BestWitted, Amazon
30 November 2010
  • Summary: Great backup drive....I had to initially reformat this drive as I use a PC and not a Mac but not a big deal....what I really like is the ability to switch from Firewire and USB 1 or 2 as I use this drive on several different computers. I will buy another exactly like this drive.
