Summary: The cord has a loose connection like other reviews said. I took a gamble, and this time it was the wrong move. I use this to back up my laptop. Any little movement will disconnect the drive and cause the back up to fail.
Summary: I purchased this in December, 2013. It was quirky from the beginning, sometimes not being recognized by one of my computers. It stopped working altogether by March 2, 2014. It was not heavily used and always well protected. I own other Iomega portable drives that have not had any problem. Extremely disappointed in this one.
Summary: There was nothing in my son's package that stated that one must register their drive within ninety days. He is having trouble with the drive and its interface with his MacPro. Unfortunately one may not speak with folks at iOmega if their drive was not registered within ninety days of purchase without paying a $25 fee up front. Once the fee is paid the phone number to call for service is provided.
Guts seem fine - but the substandard interface connector is prone to serious problems
True Rocker, Amazon
27 November 2013
Summary: The proprietary USB 3 interface doesn't engage reliably. From the first use, it was very temperamental and required a gentle touch. Over time, the interface would break with just a little jostling and dismount the drive. The drive is fine, but I can't get the interface cable to work. iOmega used to make high qual products, but I'll never buy another iOmega product.
