Summary: I'd been looking for a usb-powered external drive for use with Time Machine on our iMac. With only a 250GB harddrive in the Mac, I didn't need a huge external drive. Found this 320GB iOmega eGo listed as specifically working with Macs, and came with both USB and Firewire (400 and 800) cables in the...
Summary: This is my favorite external drive. It is super portable and fast. It looks good on my desk and I have had no problems with it. I use it for both Time Machine and as a storage drive with two partitions.
Summary: I've been using this to back up my Mac for about six months and have never had a problem. It's ready to go seconds after I plug it into the computer, and the 800 Fire Wire is lightning fast - backups are complete in a matter of minutes.
Summary: This is absolutely terrific!! I use the Firewire and it is very fast. I'm extremely pleased with it. (I previously owned a SmartDisk that was USB, and I didn't like that as it was too slow - either the product was or the USB way was). I have a Mac and it works wonderful with my laptop!
Summary: I've been using the iOmega for a few weeks now and I'm seriously considering getting a second device! It's easy and fast and portable! I've heard they have a tendency to die, but I've not had any problems so far.
Summary: Hoping I don't get the top separation. But I may luck out as mine sits on a table and is not touched or moved, i just use it to randomly plug into my macbook and let time machine do its thing.
Summary: I now have two of these drives and think they are great. Bought the first one 6 months ago and use it regularly. I have found the drive to be reliable and extremely portable. I have done huge data transfers taking a couple of hours without problems with overheating.
Great product. Good backup alternative to laptops.

Summary: This product is a good solution for backing up your data if you have just one desktop PC or a laptop. If you just have one laptop, a network accessed storage(NAS) device is an overkill and more expensive. I connect this product to my laptop once a week using the USB connectors.
