Summary: Bought this hard drive to back up all my music and important files from my pc. I only plug it in around twice a month to transfer files. I've had this for 2 years and so far everything works great.
I have 2 of these I use for back-up on 2 computers

Summary: This is a good USB powered portable hard drive that works well. I had a different Iomega that failed earlier, but both of these have worked for more than a year. I recommend these if you need one for a back-up.
Summary: I used one of these for almost two years, but I only used it to keep files on, so it was running for about two hours for a total of maybe five times. Then, one day, it just started beeping and that was the end of that.
Summary: The key feature for a hard drive is reliability, and the only way to figure that out is to put a hard drive through the paces either until it fails or until it chugs along for a reasonable useful life. My experience with Iomega external hard drives has been spotty, at best.
Summary: Bought this because of Iomega's reputation and the price. Works great and doesn't need a power source other than a usb port. Just using it as a backup drive for CAD files. I picked the red color because it is easy to find.
Summary: I have purchased a number of different hard drives in the past few years. We make short films and need external hard drives that can be passed from the Director of Photography to the Editor to the Color Correctionist, etc. etc.
Summary: I purchased eGO 500GB drive as a 2nd backup drive. It worked OK with very minimum use (connected once a month to update files) for almost one year. It started showing error when I erase or copy files. I tried to chkdsk or format but it failed with error messages.
Summary: I'm relatively new to the use of external hard drives, and I must say, my first one was a big let down. I purchased this ruby red Iomega eGo hard drive just over a month ago. Within two weeks, it failed on me.
