"DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT buy this hard drive."

christyy247, CNET

  • Pros: Fast, inexpensive-ish and enough storage for years worth of my photos.
  • Cons: I've purchased two of these hard drives, & both have failed. I would have lost all of my pictures & songs if I hadn't backed everything up on my Maxtor back-up drive. At first I thought I'd made an error, so replaced it, making 1 error into 2.

  • Pros: Looks nice, firewire 800 very fast.
  • Cons: This thing gets so hot I almost burned my hand picking it up. Heat + Hard-drive = disaster! Its called Mac Edition yet I had to format it so I could save large files. Really wished i had passed on this one and bought the Lacie. I have to keep it unplugge
