Perhaps a little slow, but reliable and easy to use.

Summary: I have five Hitachi xl1000 external memories all functioning with a Humax HDR Fox T2 digital recorder. They are all in constant use and are excellent. Flexible, easy to use and reliable though a little slow by comparison with more modern designs.
Summary: I purchased 2 of this drives because I thought that was a good price and I lost all the data in both units. They just stop working for no reason, don't use this brand is terrible. I lost all the backups of all the family pictures and music and movies.
Summary: I have had this product for a few months and it worked fine until it fell on it's side, it did not fall off a table or chair merely onto it's side! Suddenly my computer could not read the parameters, it has a strange clicking sound and all my files have been lost!
Summary: Pros: good value for money, 1000gb is more thn enough space for almost everyone, looks sleek (I like the little stand it comes with. No problems 18 months on. Cons: the 'Hitachi' logo light is a bit brigt when plugged in - bit annoying if you sleep in the same room as it when turned on.
Summary: I can't believe there is not a single negative review, I must be the only one who got unlucky with this item. I had it for 3 whole months, my girlfiend accidentaly dropped it from the harm chair, how high would might be? Not high enough to break it right??? Wrong!!!
Summary: Had this product for 3 months, thought it was great, so easy to use, BUT, the upright design is not very stable, it got knocked over and hey ho, now have the click of death!!! If you buy one of these ONLY use it horizontally!!!
Summary: After buying this product in August I posted a negative review as a result of the drive failing to start. Since that time I have tried using it again and had no further problems to date [touch wood!]. I suspect the problem may have been caused by my computer.
