Fastest portable support I've found for Apple laptops

Summary: This is one of the few external devices offering speeds beyond that of USB 3.0. Many devices sporting Thunderbolt ports are simple bridging through a USB 3.0 interface, so don't offer real Thunderbolt performance. This device blew away the USB 3.0 drives I have, in terms of read/write speeds. Best investment I've made for fast portable hard drive back-up for my Apple laptops.
Excerpt: I really like this little drive. I do motion gfx and video editing. I use it to carry work back and forth from the office to my house. It goes in my purse. I wish it were a bit lighter, but then again, for 1TB it's not bad.At home it's connected to my macbook pro and all project files are on this drive. I haven't put it through major tests (like 3D rendering) yet but for basic editing/AE work it's been all good and fast so far.
Pros: Fast Connectivity, Quiet, Reliable, Versatile
Excerpt: Nice and small, doesn't take up a lot of desk space, works great, but until they start putting multiple ports on so you can daisy chain on drives that are less than $ I can't give it 5 stars. I sent mine back.
Excerpt: This drive arrived in 1 day, ready and raring to go. Just plug it into a USB port on your computer. Within a very short time, I had a complete back up of my system. It's small, attractive, and simple enough to use that I needed no special skills to make it work.
Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use, High Capacity, Portable, Quiet
Summary: I've had two of these fail on me in the past 6 months. The first time, I thought it was me. The second time, with only desktop use, I knew it was just an inferior product. $400/yr on unreliable G-Drives has now become $100/yr. for 1TB DropBox, and the other $300/yr. toward a more robust computer.
