Reliable Hard drive

docgal, B&H Photo
22 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I use this to back up my computer and media. I shoot a lot of footage and need hard drives to have duplicate copies of it. I've been using G-Tech drives for years and have not had one fail me yet. I wish the options for ports were more uniform.
  • Pros: Compact, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use

Hard Drive

  • Excerpt: This hard drive looks great and performs as claimed. Thanks Tontje clever design It's easy to stack multiple drives without overheating. The USB 3.0 transfers data nice and quick. My one complaint is the power-on light can be downright blinding while editing late at night in the dark. I had to blacknit out with tape.

  • Excerpt: I needed a really big "safety drive" to archive my clients FCP media. Its big enough to store dozen's of jobs, yet fast enough to use as a source for editing. Also, the footprint is surprisingly small.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use, High Capacity

Reliable external hard drive

  • Excerpt: I use this as a large external hard drive for back-up purposes. So far, I haven't had a problem with G-drives although I have had problems with external drives made by other manufacturers. I would also like to praise their customer support because when you call the company for tech support, you speak to a live, knowledgeable person.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use, High Capacity, Quiet

  • Excerpt: I'm a big fan of G-drives, I have 4 of them stacked on my desktop. This 4TB drive is my newest. I love the slim profile. It runs quiet and fast. I use this with my imac for video editing. I have to use a Thunderbold to Firewire adapter for this.

I cannot be more happy with my purchase of this External Hard Drive

Julie Teegardin, Amazon
17 September 2014
  • Summary: I cannot be more happy with my purchase of this External Hard Drive! I have a ever growing youtube channel and ran out of space to hold my content on my computer! This hooked up to my MacBook Pro easily and the transfer of the large amount of data was actually quite fast. Once this drive gets full I plan on purchasing another! Another plus of this is that in can be used a "timecapusle" device for Macbooks creating a backup!

4TB G-Drive, Nice.

Steven St. Phillip, B&H Photo
17 September 2014
  • Excerpt: I am a video editor with Sony Creative Software including Vegas and edit mostly HDV HD Projects. The G-Drive is plenty fast and my personal benchmark read/write tests come back around 150MB/s over USB 3.0. These 7200rpm drives are whisper quiet and ergonomic/versatile. I did not like that it didn't come formatted for NTSF and I had to follow a help topic on their website to format the drives; they came with no backup or drive enccryption software. All-in-all very happy.
