Summary: The positive is that the design is good and it is compatible with my MAC laptop. Unfortunately it is not compatible with my TV. I get an error message saying it can't be recognised each time I plug it in.
Unusable because of wrong cable and strange returns policy.

Summary: Very bizarre cable included. Not as far as I can make out a USB 3.0 plug which should look like any other USB plug from what I can see. Drive purchased as Xmas gift for son to use with his Mac Book Air. He is unable to connecte it as it as it came with this odd cable with plug X (a kind of segmented affair - I can supply a photo) at one end and a normal USB at the other.
Summary: Bought this for my daughter's Mac Air. Works out of the box as expected, lightning quick. Beauty and elegance for those who don't mind spending a few bob extra for something that matches the Apple product line. Small, very very light.
Summary: Beautifully made (brushed silver case), compact (12 cm x 8cm x very thin), it looks like it was designed specifically for my iMac, and neither gets in the way nor looks odd connected all the time. Set up was a little confusing (probably me), but now runs perfectly with Time Machine. Very competitively priced, and quick to arrive, the family photos are now safe! Yes, the USB is very short, but fine for day to day.
Not as well made as I had expected...still the best option for Mac

Summary: I bought this hard drive expecting it to be manufactured to Apple standards due to the way the product is presented by Freecom. It is a really nice design and extremely thin (amazingly thin actually) but the silver paint finish is VERY badly applied (in the hard drive I received from Amazon). I expected it to be a raw metal finished like Apple products, so was surprised that it is actually painted silver (even though it is indeed made from magnesium).
