Summary: An absolutely great wireless hard drive with an exceedingly long range even through metal bulkheads, I work on a large fishing boat in Alaska and all adjacent rooms (8) total, all get the signal, it does tend to stream video poorly, but only when 4 or more users log on. I really like it! gonna buy another one for the wife!
Summary: The Voyager Air 2 is a great portable storage solution for tablets, particularly tablets that are otherwise hostile to external storage like the iPad. I've explored a few of these devices, and this is the most capable one I've seen. The primary intention is that you transfer photos or movies to the drive from your computer using a USB 2.0 or 3.0 cable. It's a fast drive with 3.0, I measured 110 MByte/second transfers.
Got it working with Corsair's AWESOME technical support team!

Summary: As several others have mentioned, I had difficulty getting this drive to work. This device ships without the charging cable, and according to other reviewers, the charging cable is required to get the Firmware update to work. I've had to contact customer service twice, so far. The first time: I called on Thursday, July 24th and the person I spoke with, Jacob, was very helpful.
Summary: The elephant in the room: The manufacturer ships this device without a necessary firmware update, without which it will not function properly. This is a bit of a misstep right off the bat, but hey if the update is easy it's no problem. Well, it's not easy. Getting the update: I'm a tech professional who works with hardware regularly, and even given this I wasted an hour figuring out what needed to happen and trying different solutions.
Summary: The first thing you must do with this drive is update the firmware. On the one hand, sure, it is pretty inexcusable to ship your product with old firmware. On the other hand, it is also pretty common, and not really that big a deal. Just go to http://www.corsair.com/download "Voyager Air Firmware and Documentation" ver. 2.0.17. (You can then also upgrade to Firmware 2.1.2, which I highly recommend, but you can operate the drive just fine on 2.0.17.
Summary: This is going to be a first-pass at a review of the Corsair Voyager Air 2, a review that I hope I will be able to successfully and positively edit in the relatively near future. As instructed by Corsair, before I attempted to use the Voyager Air 2, I went to the Corsair website and located the latest firmware update available for this product (it is date July 15, 2014, so it has to be the latest there is.
Summary: The Viyager 2 started out to be a bit of a nightmare. Upon receiving it and pairing it with the Mobile app, we discovered it needed a firmware update. Seemed simple enough. But the firmware would not update and after some time online with Corsair, it was discovered that in order for the firmware to update, it needed the power adaptor, which is sold seperately on the voyager 2 model.
Summary: Product delivered in no time, thanks for that. Now after opening on 6-12-14 tried to use it with their program from app stores, and surprise I have a voyager air 2 with voyager air 1 firmware, which cannot be upgraded without the 5v adapter that it does not come with. I found that tidbit out after several days of trying to get it to update. The new version of their app is not at all compatible with the old firmware.
Summary: Same issue I'm having as Aaron (posted on April 3, 2013). My wife mostly uses this device (while plugged in at home). But one time I brought it along with us for my daughter to use and watch videos while we run errands. While carrying it around, every 10-15 minutes, the device would shut down. I made an attempt to create a ticket on Corsair's tech support site but still haven't got a reply from them.
Summary: I would NOT buy this drive yet. I just purchased one for an International trip, and so far it is an expensive brick. The documentation states that it ships with the latest firmware. As per support, this is not true, and it must be updated, as the newest version of the Corsair IOS app will not work with the installed firmware.
