Summary: I bought the clickfree and when I plugged it in it said update available on clicking this the clickfree would not update and keeps saying try later. I would advise people not to buy this product and I cannot get any joy from the tech firm dealing with it.
Back up multiple computers in network automatically. Easy individual file retrieval. NOT wireless.
Summary: Great way to automatically back up every computer in your network. Software user interface makes it easy to retrieve individual files from a previous save and restore that specific file version just as easy as "copy & paste" it back where it came from originally. Great "do-over" when you've just accidentally overwritten a file, or the current document/file becomes corrupted or non-functional.
Summary: The item arrived on time but I cannot get it to work --I plug it in and the light on the device goes on but nothing else happens. No back up --no value and really hard to get customer service to help.
Beware of Kooboodle Software that downloads from Clickfree
G. Gerson, Amazon
22 January 2014
Summary: While I like the way Clickfree drives function, with this drive I found a surprising and very unwanted addition. Whenever Clickfree loads, it installs a program called Kooboodle. From reviews, it is, at minimum, junk ware; at the worst, it is spy ware or even mal ware. Until Clickfree removes this "junk", I'll find another source for my backups.
Summary: I use this backup system ("Clickfree, HD527, 500GB, WD1035XM") and the "tabletop-USB-port" (stand) for my desktop PC, laptop, and iPad and I sincerely appreciate the function of maintaining the individual "archives" of these files and systems separately within the device. Packaging was sufficient and operation is both easy and automatic; that is, very little intervention by the user is required. It is aesthetically pleasing in its appearance and functions very quietly.
Summary: I ordered this product and paid the full price for it. When I got it I plugged it in and the first thing it wants to do is update it's software. Well I shouldn't have done that as after some research I find out that this update installs an ad that runs a video from YouTube EVERY SINGLE TIME THE SOFTWARE STARTS. There is NO WAY to stop this ad from running each and every time you run the backup. You can click past it but this is a real intrusion to a fine product.
Summary: I dont write reviews but . my pc crashed and the clickfree was backed up to date it went down. I plugged it in to my old laptop and there where the file and the new laptop I transfer all the file, boom done.
