Buffalo MiniStation Extreme 500GB review

APC
7 January 2013
  • Excerpt: It’s not just the beautiful textured casing or the integrated USB 3.0 cable that make this drive ‘Extreme’: it’s also the hardware encryption extra speeds the military-standard shock resistance and suite of included software tools. On the latter score however the less said the better. There’s a backup utility a RAM disk utility a power-saver and TurboPC EX which claims to improve performance but made no difference for us.
  • Pros: Shock-resistant hardware encryption top speeds.
  • Cons: Weak software bundle.

Buffalo MiniStation Extreme USB 3.0 Review

Tech2
6 May 2012
  • Summary: The Buffalo MiniStation Extreme is priced well at Rs. 5,200  for the 500GB model and Rs. 7,500 for the 1TB version. This offers much better value, compared to the Iomega, as it’s more portable, thanks to the 2.5-inch drive inside, you don’t need an external power source to run it and it’s as rugged as they come. If you’re looking for a very capable USB 3.0 portable drive in the 2.5-inch space, then the Buffalo MiniStation Extreme makes for an excellent option.

Expert Review

PC Advisor
12 June 2011
  • Excerpt: Our 1TB drive came in black, but the drive is also available in 500GB capacity and in a variety of different colours. It’s a little chunkier than most of its portable rivals, but that’s because of the military-standard shock-proof casing that is designed to withstand drops of up to 2.3m.

REVIEW: Buffalo MiniStation Extreme

BCW
11 March 2011
  • Summary: The market isn’t exactly short of external hard drives, but the latest product from Buffalo is a nice addition to its growing lineup of USB 3.0-packing storage solutions. The MiniStation Extreme (89x18x128mm) not only supports the latest USB 3.0 and Buffalo’s TurboPC EX technology to deliver theoretical data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps (as long as your computer has a compatible port), but is enclosed in a highly shock-resistant chassis that meets U.S.

Buffalo MiniStation Extreme 1TB: l'alta velocità in sicurezza

insidehardware.it
12 February 2012
  • Pros: Prestazioni, Robustezza, Suite software valida e completa
  • Cons: Nulla da segnalare
