Summary: I connected it to my MacBook Pro using the included Thunderbolt Cable. Computer recognized it directly (device already formatted for Mac OS). I opened Disk utility to make 2 partition and rename them. Then the device was ready to use the way I needed it. It works as expected. 100% satisfied.
Summary: Quick background info: iMac 27" 2011 model with 2 Thunderbolt ports. Video Editor & Photographer Needed a Time Machine drive Owned the drive since December(2 months ago) The drive is fantastic and does what it says. It works. I don't mind the slower 5200RPM speed.
Summary: I bought this for a new Mac Book Pro. I've been using it to back up photos and files and Time Machine back ups. It is super fast and is a simple connection via ThunderBolt or USB 3.0. I've been using the TB port and it is lighting fast. :-)
Summary: I've been using this drive for 8 months now, and I just realized what a great reliable little drive it is. I mostly use it over the thunderbolt interface and it is so fast you don't notice that it is an outboard drive. Made in Japan, so a little more expensive than the competition.
