Amanda S., Newegg

  • Pros: Was a lil worried at first about the company as have never bought anything from Adata. i must say that i'm a believer... have had no issues what so ever with the drive, and it looks great connected to my wii. cant tell in the pictures but the design on the top is pretty cool
  • Cons: could do without the y style usb cable

Unstoppable

Benjamin H., Newegg
30 May 2011
  • Summary: I've owned this since September 2010. This has been dropped, kicked, shocked, and overall abused since I've owned it. Not that I did it intentionally, as I am a gentle geek, but I'm a tad clumsy with my electronics. I can't even count how many times I've dropped this.
  • Pros: Durable, fast file transfer (when using dual USB), great for running portable apps, small, light, low system resource usage.
  • Cons: None.

Sturdy, durable, fast transfer

Benjamin H., Newegg
15 May 2011
  • Summary: This thing can take a beating. Super fast transfers. I've owned it since September, and it's survived being left out in the cold overnight (left it in my car some nights when it was -35F) and it's totally fine. Also, if you hook it up with both USBs it runs pretty fast.
  • Pros: Very durable. Dropped this thing several times (not on purpose) sometimes from heights of over 3 feet onto cement, landing flat or angled, and the drive inside is perfectly undamaged.
  • Cons: I honestly have no complaints about this drive.

Bought two for backup

Greg L., Newegg
10 May 2011
  • Summary: I needed two for two colo systems in two remotes sites where I pay per plug on the power strip, and can't use my own power strip. These little drives take up very little space, and are powered from two USB ports. I use Linux on both of them, and they work great with ext3.
  • Pros: Fast, quiet, small, no external power supply needed.
  • Cons: You need two USB ports per drive, one is for data transfer, and the other is for extra power. This might confuse you, as the instructions were a little unclear (they are for a 1-usb plug model), but I figured it out after a few minutes of the drive just flashing at me. Pink color might dissuade s...

ken f., Newegg
21 March 2011
  • Summary: I think I'm in LOVE!
  • Pros: 1) Oh SO pretty! 2) Did I mention - it's PINK?:) 3) Slim footprint, smaller than my wallet 4) Fast 5) Easy to use, no software to setup - plugged it in to my USB under Windows XP and I was off and running. 6) No AC adapter - gets power from the USB port 7) Might run (does for me) on only ONE USB ...
  • Cons: 1) Hmm well it doesn't know how to massage my feet...

Excellent little drive

JULIE A., Newegg
24 February 2011
  • Pros: This is a great little drive, runs quiet and cool. Also, it does come with two USB connectors with an extra for power as someone said, but it runs fine for me with only the one connected (it probably spins up faster with both connected but I don't care about that.)
  • Cons: None (yet).

Awesome little HD

Derek A., Newegg
20 February 2011
  • Summary: make sure you have 2 usb ports open to use it. One for power and one for data transfer. Not a big deal though. I prefer it instead of having to plug it into the wall
  • Pros: Small, Portable, Fast
  • Cons: None

A-DATA SHO2 500GB Drive

Ian L., Newegg
3 February 2011
  • Summary: A-DATA lets you download a free program to 'sync' your portable HDD with a computer(s). However, it doesn't work like a typical sync, the kind of sync on iTunes, where it deletes/adds files accordingly.
  • Pros: Great drive, extremely portable. It backs up my entire computer and is small and portable enough to replace my flash drive. My USB drive on my lanyard was only 4gb but this is much larger so I can use it for school work without having to worry too much about managing space for the time being. I b...
  • Cons: None, for the hardware itself.
