Absolute garbage, Don't buy this if you are looking for a HD hard drive able to survive a deployment.

Summary: Very cheaply put together. Appears to be a standard hard drive with ADATA livery hot glued to to exterior. Failed during the first backup of a 500gb hd in a 70°F room. Calling this military-spec is just a catch word like you would see on a childrens toy.

Summary: bought one, after a year the cord connections went bad. I assumed it was an anomaly (replacing the cord did not help), I bought a second one, same problem. Quite irritating. Don't buy. many other products that will do the same job.
Summary: Bought this new at a local retail store and was assured it was the best on the market. Both water and bump proof... I did not buy because of these "features" dont intend to find out if it is water proof or otherwise... just need a portable 1TB that does not require an AC adapter. It worked well for approximately 3 months and on one day for no reason the drive icon in Windows 8 no longer appeared.
Summary: Thought that a Military-Spec hard drive would be just what I needed to take on my deployment. I work in an office, not on the front lines, but yet this "rugged" hard drive wasn't durable enough to withstand sitting on a desk. The connector no longer works after only 5 months. Now I have lost all my valuable work files as well as personal files because my waterproof, drop proof hard drive broke from routine use.
Summary: I wanted a portable drive to back up my computer. This allows me to take my internet outlook express & documents but I haven't figured out if or how to back up to this device. I tried to work it through my computer and it told me this device couldn't accept a system back up. Bummer. Lot of money for nothing.
Summary: I bought this for 2 month, at first , the contact is very poor, if you touch the hardisk , it will lose connect with your computer, and today, after 2 month, it completely can't connect to my computer.
Summary: Drive seems to work fine, WHEN I can use it. The cable fits much too loose at the drive end, and it gets worse and worse over time. If it's not exactly in the plug, the drive shuts off. This can happen just from placing a coffee cup on the desk next to the drive. If you even just touch the drive, it dies. The cable issues you have read about in the reviews are true. I had a friend who had a 750GB version USB2, and it had a different cable.
Summary: Worst hard-drive i've ever had.. doesn't even come close to holding up to it's description. The cable connection is defective, which shorted out the whole thing after about a month. Lost all my data.
