Summary: The external hard drive is real good, using it over a year now. However the USB cable that comes with it drops the connection and causes the device to eject with the slightest movement of the drive. Thought of returning it ,however I have another USB 3 cable that works just fine. If only the manufacturers replace the USB cable alone.
Summary: First of all, the price is very reasonable. The speed is faster than my old WD passport 1TB USB 3.0 one. The sleek design makes it nice for traveling as well. If you are looking for an external hard drive, I'd highly recommend buying the ADATA.
Summary: I opened the enclosure and used the drive itself. The drive is a Toshiba MQ01ABD100. This drive has 3901 power on hours for me so far but is pretty lightly used (132 power cycle count). The enclosure is secured by snaps that don't need to be broken to be opened and can be reclosed really easily just need to be careful (I started at the side opposite the connector.) The USB 3/SATA board just plugs into the drive and sits there so is very easily reused/removed.
Summary: I bought this external HDD, to transfer my music and movies as I have have 500GB worth of it so I could sell my laptop and transfer it to my new laptop that I am going to buy, this HDD performs very good, speeds are quick.
Pros: Fast, light, no power cable and alot of space!
Summary: Very compact (amazing how much smaller 1 terabyte drives have become over the last two or three years) and lightweight. Be aware that this is USB 3.0 (hate that it isn't Firewire) and if your device is not 3.0 compatible you'll need to have one of those USB 2.0 Y cables that plugs into two ports.
