  • Summary: The ADATA Classic CH11 barring all its cosmetic addons, still offers good value at a mere Rs.5.42 per GB which was the lowest cost per GB for all the over 750GB drives portable external drives that we tested. So if you are on a budget, this drive is better than the WD My Passport Essential SE.

ADATA Classic Series CH11 1 TB USB 3.0

9 August 2011
  • Summary: A lot of manufacturers are utilizing the new USB 3.0 interface to bring out new hard drive enclosures. Since ADATA is a company in the storage business, it makes sense to offer a unit using a pre-installed drive with the new interface. The Classic CH11 makes a good impression, but offers a no frills package with performance that is expected when connected to the third generation Unversal Serial Bus.
  • Pros: Good price, Good USB 2.0 performance, Noticable USB 3.0 performance boost, Interesting design with some functionality, Stickers to place on the drive so that you may label it, Three different color options available, 3 years warranty
  • Cons: USB 3.0 connector not usable if you stand the drive up, Somewhat erratic USB 3.0 performance with small files, No frills drive, White and Pink are more affordable than the Black one
