Doesn't quite work as advertised

yuri,, TigerDirect.com
25 January 2013
  • Summary: Would not pass data thru the E-Sata port even though I followed instructions re order to plug in USB cable last. The only way to use E-Sata is to connect external 5Volt adapter, without any USB connection. Defeats my purpose for mobile use. Would be a good deal if it performed as advertised.

  • Summary: A few weeks ago my Thinkpad with Windows 7 started giving me a hard drive failure warning. Before I was able to save my files and get a new drive the laptop crashed and would not restart. I finally installed a new drive got it running again and reloaded Windows 7. PROBLEM: All my pictures and documents where on the damaged hard drive. SOLUTION: I bought this enclosure, put in the defective drive, plugged it into a USB port on my Thinkpad.

Great deal, but connector is Iffy

  • Summary: Bought this because of the eSATA connector, great deal for the product, am still impressed with eSATA speeds. However, the drive will often just not be recognized. Or lord help you if you have more than 1 partition, it has trouble continuing to recognize them all.

  • Summary: I had thought it was the drive and case. However the product is what it says on the box and of nice quality once I found a drive to go into it.

A very good product

  • Summary: This 2.5 case is a nice size and it stays cool. Comes with cables and an esata card, plus a case. The pocket on the inside of the case will not fit the case, but that is no big deal.

  • Summary: Was looking for a inexpensive external hard drive enclosure because someone gave me a external hard drive. This was just what I was looking for, does what I needed it to do. I am pleased with this product so far.
