Excerpt: This guitar sounds like a strat is supposed to sound. everything resonates well, the sounds are bright and crisp. You can go from country twang all the way to creamy overdrive tones with a flip of the switch. the pickups hum a little, but i'll take that to have alnico pickups. It amazes me when people complain about pickup hum, because all of our favorite "classic" songs recorded by artists using single coils were recorded on pickups that hum.
Summary: The Fender Stratocaster is a great guitar no matter what style you like to play, it can play nearly any style imaginable. The sound quality out of any Fender Stratocaster is amazing, it can be soft and sweet or it can be hard and heavy, also the fact it is made in america means that the quality of the pick-ups are amazing. The shape of the Fender Stratocaster is iconic you ask anyone to draw a guitar they will draw the Fender Stratocaster.
Summary: In my opinion this is, for your moneys worth, the best Stratocaster under £1000. It is suitable for beginners to professionals. It is very reliable for example, the guitar rarely goes out of tune and it feels sturdy and well constructed (which is why Fender have such a good reputation.) The neck is very comfortable and fits your grip the first time you pick it up.
The Fender Blacktop stratocaster - playability and tone combined!
11 May 2011
Summary: I got my Fender Blacktop Stratocaster in February of this year - so I've had it a few months now. I got it to use as an alternative to my Les Paul to provide me with something different tonally and playability wise. It certainly ticks these boxes! I feel that I should say that this wasn't my first choice - I originally had an order placed for a flying V - but, after playing on in a shop I very much fell in love with the feel of the neck and just how great it is to play.
Pros: Amazingly playable . Great range of tones . Very well priced .
Cons: Not as 'sexy' as Les Pauls . Components perhaps a bit sub - par .
