Summary: I have a friend who was being besieged by a lot of negative things in his life at the time when I saw this Dean guitar. It looked quite a bit like his bass guitar, was made of paulownia wood which has been the center of an ongoing debate with my brother, and the price was most reasonable, so I purchased it as a gift so as to relieve my friend of his negativity.
Summary: I have been playing guitar for 30 years, mostly acoustic. For years I was picky about electrics and found only early Fender teles, strats, and Rickenbokers comfortable and easy to play. A few years ago I discovered that in acoustics, low price guitars had finally become playable (with improvements in craftsmanship in China and Korea). The same is true with electrics, and this litte Dean guitar plays like a dream and sounds good.
Summary: this guitar it is lightweight ,and the neck is very good for someone with small fingers as i,, but i truly was disappointed ,when i first opened the box,,the body didn't look at all like on the picture,,the shape is the same but ! it shows wood on the picture, well it shore don't look like wood on the one i have ,,its just a dark brown with specks of black you barely see,(like it was pained on ) ,i would of rather had it look like wood , that's what drew my attention to...
Nice Guitar, but Color is Dark Brown with no Wood Grain Finish
2 January 2012
Summary: Length:: 0:15 Mins I bought this guitar for the Rocksmith game. It's a pretty nice guitar, but as other reviewers mentioned is that the finish is not as shown in the picture. It's a dark brown color and I don't see any wood finish on it. Another thing to note, is that when I got the guitar, the top part of the guitar was chipped. It was minor, so I decided to not send it back.
Summary: Bought a couple of Dean's for gifts recently, set them up before turning them over. Of the 2 (this one and and Evo XM), this was definitely the favorite. Very well priced entry level guitar, it plays REALLY well. You can go way on up the neck on this thing because of the way it's cut. The head stock, and tuning pegs are really nice. Through the body strings add a lot to sustain on this guitar - really nice.
Summary: First, it doesn't look like the pic. It's much darker and you don't really see any of the wood grain, as represented in the picture. So beware. And the description is deceptive. Mahogany finish, but it's a Paulownia body, so it's not Mahogany. Unless Paulownia and Mahogany are the same but I don't think they are. IGNORE the light colored image above the description on the Amazon product page...
Summary: It came, it weighed next to nothing, I questioned everything, it plugged into my amp with headphones and a tuner, and it was amazing. Great sounds, all stock pickups sound great, tone is great, good with metal and acoustic sounds, perfect to learn, super light (like half of a regular guitar or less) high quality, good equipment for $115. Get at it!
Summary: I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THIS GUITAR BEFORE I BOUGHT MY EPIPHONE. THE ONLY THING THAT IS WRONG FOR ME IS THE VOLUME KNOB IS TO CLOSE TO WHERE I LIKE TO STRUM, I KEEP TURNING THE VOLUME DOWN. IF YOU BUY THIS UNIT GET A QUALITY AMP, IF YOU HAVE A CHEAP ONE IT DOESN'T DO THE GUITAR JUSTICE.
Summary: I bought this specific model guitar because a friend of mine purchased a similar Dean guitar. I really liked the feel of the one he bought, but after reading the review for this one I chose to buy the Vendetta XM. Everything you read in these reviews is accurate! It is an incredible guitar and very inexpensive - NOT cheap! The sound, the feel, everything about it is top notch! If you are looking for a very good but inexpensive guitar - this is the one!
Summary: Since I own quite a few guitars I can only say this is like none of them. It has it's own particular kind of sound. I can only say it was definitely the BEST value of any Guitar I've ever bought. I can't really compare it to any other guitar, it delivers a unique diversity of tones and textures. Without a doubt if you're not sure about buying it, DO IT! You will not be disappointed, and where else can you get a deal like this!!
