This is a good reader for those not concerned with extra features.

Summary: This is the best reader I have ever owned. It will display pdfs with ease and is the only one that never has an error with .txt files converted to ebooks. I have owned the PRS-300, B&N Nook Color, B&N Simple Touch(both with and without GlowLight), and original Kindle. Out of all these, only the Sony readers have never had an issue with any type of text, pdf or ebook file. There is one drawback due to this having an older version of the e-ink display.
Summary: Reasonable price. Sony Japan made quality. Premium look, wide variety of covers (leather or plastic, depending of your preferences). Comfortable display size, very like paper book page. Wi-fi option. Long battery life. Say good bye to book shelfs in your room! Reading a lot is my fun again. I love it.
Excerpt: At the price that Sony is selling this Prs-950 for ($299.99), I once wondered why I didn't go for a tablet instead, but when I held the Samsung Galaxy in my hands (which sold for about $199.99), I knew I didn't make the wrong choice. One of the nice things about the Sony Prs-950 is that it is really sleek and lightweight. I can barely feel it in my bag and it's slim enough to fit just about anywhere.
Feature packed eReader at an excellent eBay price!

Summary: Purchased this ereader because of the great value from Cowboom and for all the features on the device. It comes with the cover, stylus, and a/c power adapter so there is no need to purchase any additional items. Supporting both ePub and PDF formats books can be obtained from local library web sites with ease. Using the touchscreen it is very easy to highlight and take notes while reading a book. The eInk technology makes it look and feel just like a regular book.
Summary: The PRS 950 may well be the most over rated and over priced Sony Reader yet. I feel comfortable saying this because I have owned or used most every model Sony has offered. This reader looks good and has many features. It has an Internet browser that is not very good. It has touch screen as do most all eReaders sold today. These are both features that I find almost useless.
Sony's best reader. Replaced with much cheaper models.

Summary: This is a great reader. Reading on this screen is very easy on the eyes. Screen is much easier to read in comparison to the screen on the PRS-900. This is Sony's best screen to date . The screen resolution is higher on the PRS-950 than on the new and much less expensive models that replaced it in 2011. Worth the money. However, it is costly.
Great item, considering getting my dad one for father's day.

Summary: Had the PRS 600 first and the PRS 950 is a huge improvement. The screen can be read at any angle, no glare, perfectly sized screen, and Wifi capability. The contrast between black and white is great.
