Hundreds of books in a package half the size of a DVD case!

Excerpt: I actually don't own one of these toys yet, but my daughter was here this summer permanently attached to hers. Sony just dropped the price and has a new model out which I plan to purchase. The Sony PRS-505 is so thin, it's about half the size of a DVD case. Even with it's leather cover I still think it's thinner than a DVD case. What I really love about the Sony is the expandable memory.
Great value, great compatibility, great battery life. Adequate zoom.

Summary: The PRS-505 is a great little device. No touch-screen that newer e-readers have, but the buttons are simple and intuitive. Compared to most e-readers, it's a bit on the heavy side, but nothing you're likely to notice unless you're just particularly used to a lighter model. Its built-in 250MB storage sounds tiny, but that's a few hundred books.
Summary: Looks and operates very nice - only drawbacks are there is no backlight for reading in darken areas and it take forever to load data after you do a sync for new books, music or pictures. Once everything is loaded though, very easy to use and very portable.
Summary: The Sony Reader PRS 505 has everything you want in a reader. The screen is not too small, the colors are perfect. You can zoom in and out if the lettering is too small. And the e-book comes with a beautiful binder that fits perfectly in any bag. I can recommend this reader to anyone who just wants to read e-books. If you want to edit texts - keep looking...
Summary: I love my ereader. I've had it for over a year now. It came with a free 100 classics coupon that I used on the estore to choose 100 classics to download to my computer and ereader. It's a thin, silver, sturdy-feeling gadget. It comes with a strong sandy-brown cover that protects the ereader when it's in transit. I don't use the cover when I'm reading at home. It's easy to hold and the screen is very easy on the eyes.
Summary: I love this reader!!! If you are a fan of reading books like me but don't want alot of books laying around, then this is it. It is thin, lightweight, and made of metal instead of plastic, plus if you are a big fan of color, Sony offers more than just the standard silver. It is quite easy to use and having the ability to download pictures & music is a bonus to me. I also like the fact that I can listen to music while I'm reading a book if I choose to.
Summary: PROS: Least expensive e-ink ereader, easy to set up, works with secure Adobe epub ebooks. CONS: Somewhat annoying flash when changing pages. Before I purchased the Sony PRS-505, I investigated all the other e-ink ereaders on the market: Kindle 2, Sony PRS-700, iRex iLiad, Cybook and BeBook. Although I liked the idea of wirelessly downloading ebooks instantly with the Kindle 2, I was put off that I would only have one source for purchased ebooks, that being Amazon.com.
Summary: My husband gave me the reader for Christmas. Our daughter who is more "up" on the lastest technological advances knew about the reader and suggested it would be a great gift for me. She was right. I love it. I'm a "chain" reader. As soon as I finish one book I start another. I always have one or more books waiting in the wings. On a recent laid-back vacation, I packed four books to read during the trip.
