Summary: If you just want an eReader, this is one of the best if not the best. The metal case is more durable than the plastic. Sony was the first. Contrast and readability are great! As Sony and others added touch screen capabilities the contrast weakened dut to the extra layer on the screen. If you want Wifi and a browser, this is not the unit for you. It is a reader pure and simple.
Long life. Metalic case. Cardreader. One of the best reader.

Summary: Advantages: A good screen (compared to Sony T1 and this new generation, the quality of the screen is almost similar). Pretty quickly flipped through the pages. A metalic case (looks good, durable, but heavier book). Quality leather cover. Built SD and MS Card reader. Long battery life, the eyes did not get tired of reading, durable and soft to the touch, easy management, the ability to play audio))), several options turning pages, the ability to increase the font; Easy...
Summary: I ALWAYS WANTED A READER, AND I SAW THIS ONE AND I HAD TO HAVE IT. BECAUSE IT WAS PRELOADED WITH 600+ BOOKS AND IT'S SO EASY TO USE. THERE'S NOTHING I CAN SAY BAD ABOUT IT. I SORT OF WENT ALITTLE OVERBOARD, NOW I HAVE 4 READERS AND THEY ALL ARE WONDERFUL AND IT'S SO EASY TO DOWNLOAD BOOKS.
Summary: Yes the PRS-505 is older technology. So what. This was bought to supplement my first PRS-505 which has had a rough 5 years with me already. It is small enough to be handy, light enough to easily be held, easy to read and with an SD card capable of holding several hundred books in the TXT,PDF,or EPUB formats I use most often.
Summary: Looked great, came with directions, cord, and leather cover...BUT...it refused to charge! I tried everything. I don't think it was the problem with the cord, becuase it seemed to get power. It would show that the device was charging, but even after a whole day of charging (when the source of electricity was constant and it only requires a minimum of 4 hrs if it's been dead for a while) did not help. As soon as it was unplugged it died. Shoot!
Great value, great compatibility, great battery life. Adequate zoom.

Summary: The PRS-505 is a great little device. No touch-screen that newer e-readers have, but the buttons are simple and intuitive. Compared to most e-readers, it's a bit on the heavy side, but nothing you're likely to notice unless you're just particularly used to a lighter model. Its built-in 250MB storage sounds tiny, but that's a few hundred books.
Summary: I have had a Sony ereader for about 3 years now and I love it.I can take a library with me on trips and I love to read. The Prs 505 is great since it has the slots for the sd cards and can store more books. I have had on my old one 900 books including the ones on the storage card. That causes it to be a little slow on the upload but if you are careful you only have to upload once every time you add new books.
Summary: Excelente e-reader.
