Summary: Even though this particular model is discontinued, for a basic E-Reader it fulfills all of my needs. While later models may have more features and memory (the PRS 500 only has 640 mb of memory and cannot connect to wi-fi) I find that it's ease of use and sd card slot more than make up for this.
Summary: have not used it yet. I finally got around to using it and find it reliable and simple to use. Not fancy features. hhfghhffhffhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfhfh
Summary: I love Sony Readers. I own the PRS-600 for myself. I purchased this model for my son and found very little support for it. This purchase did not work out but I would still recommend Sony Readers over the rest.
Summary: I bought this for my Mother-in-law who has lupus and mixed connective tissue disease. She has been unable to read because it causes her too much pain. She cannot even turn the pages of the book. This one came with a stand she can just set it in to charge and I can take it to download books for her.
Summary: This is my first device of this kind, and although I have nothing to compare with, this is even more than I expected. The quality of Sony speaks for itself, the device is very convinient to use. I hope it will work for long time.
Summary: I bought this product, a week ago. I purchased several e-books to go with it. I went to load the e-books when i got it, and they would not load. I called Sony customer care, and they said that this reader no longer functions with their new e-book file type. And it hasn't since 2009.
Summary: I am very disappointed with my purchase. I have only had the item for a month and already it is not working. The reader froze and will not restart even after attempting to hit the reset button on the back.
Summary: This was bought as a Christmas present to me from my husband, but not really the one I would have chosen. It was a used unit so some of the things were not included that would have been in a new one. But I love it!
Summary: This is my second reader - for my wife. I have quit reading regular books and put all my books on the PRS-500. It is easy to carry multiple books, is great in direct sunlight (unlike a tablet or laptop), is small, lasts days on a battery charge, and is lighter when reading in bed than a heavy novel...
