Summary: I received a Kobo Mini for Xmas (2012), and I've read on it pretty much every night since then. I wanted a basic, e-ink, not backlit (or sidelit) reader that was lightweight and easy to use. At the time, the Mini was a less expensive option than the basic Kindle and the basic Nook. I've been quite happy with the Mini. Battery life is excellent (I leave the WiFi off unless I'm updating it), and it weighs next to nothing. I have no problem reading on it while in bed.
Summary: This is a great little reader if you can find it on sale. I managed to pick one up for the $39 July special. Maybe I am cheap but $90 is overpriced. It is very small -- I have seen phones bigger than this thing. But it does make a nice add on to my regular reader. It is my just in case, take it anywhere, battery won't die afer a couple of hours, hide it in my pocket reader. A mini stylus from the local store helps too.
Summary: i got this to replace my old original kobo after the screen got broken during a deployment. it's a really nice ereader for the money. downloading books is easy from both your computer and straight from the ereader, you can adjust fonts, font size, spacing, and margins to fit your taste, and even organize your books into "shelves" in any way you like. the size is great for putting in cargo pockets or a purse, and holding in small hands like mine.
Summary: So far Kobo.mini has been behaving itself and I am.glad. I used to have Kobo Touch and in 6 months the screen.hung and I could not do anything with it. Kobo Mini is way much sensitive and does not hang as much. the only prob is sometimes the pages flip backwards instead of forward.
Summary: I bought this at BB before Christmas when the white mini was on sale for $49. I can say I would not pay $79 for it but at $49 it is a fair price. I like the size and lightweightness of it. I do not have the problems of ghosting etc that others are mentioning. Mine works fine. I did turn off the awards etc because I found them to be annoying and i really do not care about them. By turning off them I did find the download speed to be improved.
Summary: My first concern about the Kobo Mini is its size. Now this fact can be both a plus and a minus. A plus because it fits into a pocket or camera bag, a minus because perhaps it is just a little too small. I found that by persevering the size could be overlooked and at the end of the day it is the content of the books that is important.
Summary: I previously had a sony ereader that I adored, but I lost it. My husband bought me the Kobo Glo for Christmas but it stopped working out of the box, so I picked this as the replacement because I loved the smaller size. It works great and syncs with my other devices if I happen to read on my phone or ipad. I find it easier to shop on my tablet but it's a pleasure reading on such a compact device!
Summary: I started with a kindle, then I got a Kindle Fire, then I got a Kindle Fire HD and then I got a Kobo. I love gadgets and each one has its place. I love my Kobo because I do not get distracted by other features on it, it shows images black and white, it has a couple of games - Chess and Sudoku - and it has no sound.
