Summary: I love this e-reader, the first I've ever owned. I'm still getting familiar with the various features but, so far, I really love it. My only complaint is that the detailed user's manual did not come with the device; I had to find it online. However, the reader's features, like the font size, line and margin spacing, etc are superb. Also, the adjustable illumination of the screen is good. I'm sure that my Kobo Aura and I will be great friends for a long time to come.
Summary: I have had my Kobo Aura for about eight months. I find the text contrast to be excellent as opposed to another reviewer that said the text was to gray and not dark enough. A charge lasts so rediculously long, actually more than a month. Someone else listed 7 reasons to like the Aura, I agree. I read probably at least a hundred reviews each for the Kindle and Nook readers.
Summary: The best e-book reader on the market. Backlight works perfectly. Wifi connection works fine enough, able from a distance. Ideal for those who complain about not reading enough. It really inspires you to read more with so many books at hand.
Summary: I've been using the Kobo Touch for the past few years but really wanted a lighted e-reader. As I've been generally happy with Kobo and wanted to stick with the brand, I first considered the Glo but was put off by reports of an overly bright low setting, and so I looked at the Aura. Everything I read from reviewers and users was mostly positive, and so I decided that it would be my next e-reader. I have to say I am very happy with my choice.
Summary: Best e-reader I've tried. So easy to use that I didn't need to look at the onboard owner's guide. The screen is extra sensitive so that it can jump back a page if too much pressure is used when swiping the screen to turn the page -- but after an hour or so, it's easy to adjust to this, making for smoother operation and reading than with some other e-readers. Haven't had any screen freeze trouble.. The back light is more than adequate for reading in the dark.
Summary: Overall a very good product. Contrary to what the others indicated, the screen illumination is of a lesser quality compared to Kindle Paperwhite 1st generation (the LEDs on top are visible and create a brighter line, on the bottom one can see a dark line and all of this is quite irritating).
