Summary: I love my new Kindle. It really deserves to be rated as great! I love the dictionary so I can just place the cursor next an unfamiliar word and immediately get the definition. I found it has features I didn't even know about before I got it for Christmas, like being able to email documents to your Kindle for later reading. Cool. And it downloads books SO quickly. The screen is easy on the eyes. I'm so glad I got one.
Summary: I LOVE my Kindle! After reading so much about how the iPad was going to be the Kindle killer, I wasn't too confident that I was going to like it. So far, I've been super happy with it. It's very gentle on the eyes and on the wallet when compared to the iPad. While some may say the display isn't as good as an LCD, I've found that one of the biggest advantages is that you can read outside in direct sunlight with it and not have to worry about glare keeping the screen from...
Summary: Amazon is offering $100 on the Kindle if you sign up for their new VISA Rewards card. I went through all the application process, for this limited-time offer, just to find the process doesn't take a minute or so for processing but rather 7 to 30 days. I only signed up for the card to get the $100 off on the Kindle so I was really irked that the approval might not arrive in time to use it to purchase the Kindle.
Summary: I've had the Kindle for over six months now and can't say enough about it. It is incredibly easy to use and very intuitive. I have a mild vision impairment and the ability to change font sizes is wonderful. The clarity of the letters on the page is incredible and there is no backlight to strain the eyes. The matte screen itself picks up very little glare from over head lights.
Summary: I'm a true bibliophile - love the feel of a book in my hand, the sheer joy of finding a book I can't put down, the art work on the covers, the admiration for really wonderful authorship. Several of the qualities I enjoy about books and reading are missing from the Kindle, of course, but that doesn't stop me from using it as an adjunct to my other reading pleasures. Some books are just "brain candy" and don't need to be kept forever on my bookshelf.
Summary: I simply love my Kindle.
It has traveled with me to Sweden this past month and it was awesome to have all my books on it while there.
To all of you that are surprised you can't use it outside of US of A...it clearly states that, and shouldn't be a surprise. I simply downloaded a few extra books for my monthlong trip, so I wouldn't run out of reading material.
Kindle - as simple or as technological as you like!

Excerpt: I love to read, I always have done since I was a child – but just recently as I’ve been travelling a lot to see my other half that lives nearly 500 miles away I do a lot of train travelling. So I have been thinking for a while if I wanted an e-reader, debated it for a long time even though I knew it was always going to be a Kindle. I’ve personally got a simple 6 inch Kindle with Wi-Fi and touch screen – all I wanted was a basic bog standard black and white e-reader.
