A Solid Successor to the Kindle Keyboard

Scott, Amazon
14 November 2011
  • Summary: UPDATE October 2012: This device is now discontinued, and I would strongly recommend the Kindle Paperwhite over it if given the option. For my review, I'm going to focus it on the differences between the previous Kindle Keyboard, Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display - includes Special Offers & Sponsored...

User Review

zolitare, Cnet.co.uk
31 March 2012
  • Summary: I've had the US version of this device for a couple of months now, but can't buy books from the Amazon(UK) store directly on device (at the present time). I used a Nookcolor to read eBooks previously (with screen turned to white text on black & brightness right down at night) and held off getting a...
  • Pros: easy to use, light, easy on the eyes
  • Cons: recess to screen means night time reading under a lamp produces shadows

Touch Kindle - Easy to use

Cools, Amazon
17 March 2012
  • Summary: I was hesitant to purchase the touch as I felt it was in it's infancy and that it may have issues that I know will be later updated. However, I went for it. I'm glad I did as this is my first kindle which I find really quite light and very easy to use.

Great but twitchy

MattR, Amazon
16 March 2012
  • Summary: If I was to buy a kindle again I think I might give the touch a miss and just get the basic Kindle. I bought the touch because every time I picked up someones Kindle to have a play I instinctively try to touch the screen to use it. I have found the touchscreen ultimately disappointing to use.

A good upgrade

Holly, Amazon
16 March 2012
  • Summary: I upgraded to a Kindle Touch from the Kindle Keyboard and I love it. It's taken a while to get used to it but it's much better. Much smaller, it is easier to carry around in my handbag and it's nice not having a keyboard attached that just seems to get dusty.

CeeTee, Amazon
16 March 2012
  • Summary: I purchased the Kindle to solve carrying loads of books around with me where ever I go. It holds its charge really well I think it lasted me around 2 weeks without charge using it for 2 - 3 hours a day.

A very good choice.

Kwahkesskyah, Amazon
15 March 2012
  • Summary: I bought a Kindle for two reasons, mainly. First, I wanted something very light and mobile that I could use while travelling. Second, I wanted to read some classic literature and most of it is in the public domain, so the Kindle was a perfect means for reading a lot without having to pay for a hard...
